Great September 7, 2010 lachigirl (Chicago, IL United States) Great story, well written, this is one of the first books that is popular and everyone is reading that i like, this is a great one, and i will read the other two as well.
unbeatable September 7, 2010 Terry (UK) unmissable, hard to put down. kept me awake for several nights until I had finished, then I had to buy the next 2 in the trilogy. shame the author died so suddenly, very talented writer.
Five stars easily September 7, 2010 AJ (Washington, DC United States) I'm not going to recap the story for you. In fact, don't read any of the reviews because many of them may contain spoilers. Just read the book. Or listen to the audio version as I did. The narrator is very good. This is a perfect mystery thriller. I don't say that lightly. Read it (or listen to it) now.
Spectacular Trilogy September 6, 2010 K. Donnelly-Miller (Indianapolis, IN United States) At first I was not interested in reading this trilogy because quite frankly, the title of this book (the first in the trilogy) didn't attract me. I thought it was related to tattoos and bikers or something like that. But then I saw that the books (all three) were consistently on the top list for Kindle as well as the NYT Bestseller list. So I downloaded a sample. For those of you who own a Kindle, download samples of the Kindle bestsellers. You will discover why the books are on there! At least for me, downloading the samples has been the best decision most of the time.
Anyway, these books were so riveting (aside from the first few chapters in the Dragon Tattoo) that I could hardly put them down. I read all three in 6 days. Give the first few chapters in Dragon Tattoo a chance--they just establish the background of some of the main characters. After the "move to Hedeby" the book takes off!
Two things I would say--because the names and locations are Swedish, sometimes it is hard to keep some straight but the author was very good to give some context when he returned to a character or location. I appreciated that writing style.
I just wish the author were able to write more books for us to enjoy. I recommend these books the way I recommend John Le Carre. Of course, they are popular fiction, not Charles Dickens, but the writing far surpasses most popular mystery thrillers.
Great Book September 6, 2010 marianne enjoyed this book as much as The Girl Who Kicked Fire and cannot wait to get my "Kindle" to download the third in the series to read that book.
Would recommend a quiet time when you can really get into Dragon as it was hard to put down.
